Fear Not

An Impala is one of Nature’s most beautiful animals.

Some of its traits are that it can leap up to 3 meters high and cover 11 meters with a single leap and move at speeds of up to 80km/h. Now that’s super cool.

So when facing the threat of a predator an Impala has the ability of jumping 3m high, that’s almost two times my heart and it can cover 11m with a single leap at a speed of 80km/h.

However any interesting study in a zoo showed that if you placed a 2.5m wall in front of an impala, it will not jump. And the reason behind that, is that an impala will never if cannot see where it’s feet will land.

So if an impala was faced with danger, it would rather succumb to death, as it fears the unknown. The only thing between life and death is a 2.5m wall which it is able to clear, but it would rather choose death and not tap into abilities that is has.

This got me thinking about us as well. That we have all these desires and dreams but we never accomplish them because we are so concerned about failing or fear territories in life that are unknown.

We fail to realise that if this big God can allow us to dream it, then surely we have the ability to do it.

Your intended destination will always be filled with trials. Trials aren’t necessarily a bad thing. You see friend, a trial is something that matures and grooms your character so that you are able to handle the blessing on the other side. So don’t turn back at the first sight of trouble. Turning back could be deadly.

Don’t allow your fears to stop you from moving forward. You see your unseen dreams are in the future, so moving backwards does not accomplish them.

You are going to have to take a leap of faith, a sure confidence that says that if I can dream than I can be it.

Don’t be like that Impala that has the ability to have it’s dreams come true but chooses not to take a leap of faith. It’s called a dream because you are not living in it right now but are dreaming about it.

So take a leap of faith, and forget your fears, your past failures and what people think.

Remember God has not given you a spirit of being a coward or fear, so take that leap of faith into the unknown and begin to live your dreams.
