You are greater than you think

Society has become so dependant on the opinions of others, however those opinions change like the wind. One day you could be adored and loved by someone and the two of you could even become friends and the next day you could be despised by that very same individual. Call me crazy, but I prefer listening to the One whose opinion of me never changes, Jesus Christ Himself. “I am who He says that I am.”

You need to understand that the perception of God where you are concerned is different. People see you as a work in progress, somewhat like a trailer. However God sees you as a completed Masterpiece. He word says is Psalm 139 : 13- 16, “Oh yes, you shaped me first inside, then out; you formed me in my mother’s womb. I thank you, High God—you’re breathtaking! Body and soul, I am marvelously made! I worship in adoration—what a creation! You know me inside and out, You know every bone in my body; You know exactly how I was made, bit by bit, how I was sculpted from nothing into something. Like an open book, You watched me grow from conception to birth; all the stages of my life were spread out before You, The days of my life all prepared before I’d even lived one day.”

One of the most beautiful demonstrations of love in the Bible is that of Jesus and Barabbas. Where king Pilate during on the Jewish festivals could set free one prisoner. He brought before a mob; that was led by jealous religious leaders; Jesus and Barabbas. You see Jesus was and is pure, sinless, love, giving, conquering, etc and Barabbas was a murderer, heartless and a hardcore criminal. Yet; because these leaders despised Jesus for His life changing messages and all miracles He performed; they chose Barabbas to be set free. An interesting thing about this is that Jesus had the ability to set Himself free in that moment but chose not to because He knew that He would have to take on all the sins of Barabbas in order for Barabbas to be like Him. Jesus did this for you and me too my friends, as a believer you now have the qualities of Jesus because He took on all your qualities on Himself and gave you Himself.

When we are born again again and are filled with the Holy Spirit, we become the light of the world. The kind of light that draws a moth to a flame. People are drawn to the Jesus in us.

So I want to encourage you today to stick to God’s plan for your life, run your race even when times are hard, just persevere. Some of your rewards may take longer, so stay in your lane and keep running the race. There was once a couple who went to a restaurant for dinner. The wife ordered a burger and the husband ordered oxtail. The waiter came back with the wife’s order and the husband had to wait a bit longer. Annoyed by this, he asked the waiter, “Where and why has my food not yet arrived.” The waiter politely responded, “Sir, your meal is the best meal on our menu and takes time to be at the quality that you deserve.” You see friends, stay in your lane even if it takes longer and others around you are prospering, God is at work. Remember, when you run your race, you are who He says you are.
